A 21-year-old Palm Coast man was killed the evening of Jan. 12 and two women were injured after the motorcycle the man was riding rear-ended a car on Palm Coast Parkway between Colbert Lane and Palm Harbor Drive.

Tyler M. Allen was riding a 2006 Suzuki GSX eastbound on Palm Coast Parkway in the left lane, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report, when the crash happened near the entrance to Canopy Walk.

A 2015 Nissan Versa driven by 54-year-old Julie Murphy, a Palm Coast resident who is also the Flagler County government's official spokesperson, was stopped facing facing south on Fairways Circle at its intersection with Palm Coast Parkway, and turned east onto the Palm Coast Parkway.

Allen's Suzuki struck Murphy's Nissan from behind about 42 feet east of the intersection, according to the FHP report. Allen was thrown from the motorcycle as it overturned. The motorcycle came to rest in the road's eastbound lane.

Allen died at the scene of the crash. Murphy and a passenger, 56-year-old Mary Gorman of Barrington, Illinois, both had minor injuries. Murphy was taken to Florida Hospital Flagler.
