Outdoor fun: Palm Coast toddlers can enjoy Parks and Recreation programs this fall

Take a look at all the events your little ones can participate in, with parents present, this season.

Even your little ones can enjoy the outdoors of Palm Coast this fall. 

The city of Palm Coast’s fall recreation programs for toddlers and preschoolers begin soon and will run from September through December. Those interested can register at palmcoastgov.com/register. Deadline for registration is 48 hours before the start of the program, while space is available.

 

Playground Pals

Parents can join their kids ages 2-5 for a monthly exploration around Palm Coast playgrounds. Arts, crafts and games will be available for this free program, which will be held 10-11 a.m. on the following Wednesdays:

Sept. 13 – Waterfront Park, 305 Palm Coast Parkway NE

Oct. 18 – Seminole Woods Neighborhood Park, 350 Sesame Blvd.

Nov. 15 – Holland Park, 18 Florida Park Drive N.

 

Musical Munchkins

The child-with-parent class is for preschoolers ages 2-5. It will introduce kids to music, rhythm and movement. Each class, taught by Jennifer Baker (an occupational therapist and owner of Kascel Therapy LLC) will have a different theme. The free program will be held 10-11 a.m. Thursdays from Sept. 7 to Oct. 5 at Frieda Zamba Pool classroom, located at 339 Parkview Drive.

 

Teddy Bear Picnic

Children ages 2-5, with their parents, will get to bring their favorite teddy bear for story time, games, crafts and a snack for the picnics, which are on Saturdays or Mondays on the following dates at 10-10:30 a.m.:

Saturday, Sept. 16 – Holland Park, 18 Florida Park Drive N.

Monday, Oct. 2 – Linear Park, 31 Greenway Court

Monday, Nov. 6 – Linear Park

Saturday, Nov. 18 – Seminole Woods Neighborhood Park, 350 Sesame Blvd.

Monday, Dec. 4 – Linear Park

 

Creepy Crawlies Series

Kids ages 2-5 can learn about spiders, centipedes, worms, earwigs and other crawlies for free on Wednesdays at 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 and 20; Oct. 4 and 18; and Nov. 1, 15 and 29 at Linear Park, 31 Greenway Court.

 

Nature Nuts Series

Parents can join their preschoolers ages 2-5 twice a month for story time and craft sessions. Nature Nuts will be held 9-10 a.m. Mondays, Sept. 25; Oct. 9 and 23; and Nov. 6 and 20, at Linear Park, 31 Greenway Court. It’s $8 per child to participate.

 

Little Kicker Soccer

The Parks and Recreation department will offer two sessions at Holland Park, 18 Florida Park Drive N. The program will be held 10:15-11 a.m. Saturdays, Sept. 16 to Oct. 14; and 5:15-6 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 28 to Oct. 26

The 5-week program will teach toddlers ages 3-5 (with parents present) basic motor skills needed to play organized sports, such as soccer. The cost is $35 per session.

 

Munchkin’ Sports

With parents present, children ages 3-5 will learn basic motor skills needed to play sports, such as soccer, baseball, golf, football and tennis during the five-week program, which will be held 5:15-6 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 27 to Oct. 25. Cost is $35 per session.

 

Preschool swim lessons

Preschoolers ages 4-5 can take swim lessons Mondays through Thursdays on Sept. 18-28 at the Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive. Three levels will be offered, and the cost is $45 per session. For more information, visit palmcoastgov.com/pool or call 986-4741.
