A man got drunk and jumped down the Hampton Inn's laundry chute from the third floor, hotel staff reported to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office March 17.

A deputy got to the hotel at 150 Flagler Plaza Drive at about 11:12 p.m. and found Johnathan Craig Safford, 35, on the first floor "in a laundry basket with a small bleeding cut on the back of his head," according to an arrest report. Safford's ankle was also swollen.

A Sheriff's Office commander's log entry stated that hotel staff reported that Safford had jumped down the chute and may have landed on his head. The arrest report stated that Safford may have fallen down the chute.

When a deputy checked with dispatch, the deputy found that Safford, an Ocala resident, was wanted in Marion County for parole violation. He'd been arrested previously on charges of dealing in stolen property and giving false information to a pawn broker.
