FINAL: FPC 5, Mandarin 4

 TOP OF THE SEVENTH INNING

Matt Hillman comes on for a chance at the save. FPC leads Mandarin, 5-2.

Mandarin works a leadoff walk. Back-to-back walks for Hillman, and the tying run comes to the plate for Mandarin.

FPC coach Jordan Bulter just pulled Hillman after two walks. Travis Bennett comes on to try and get three outs.

Three straight walks, and Mandarin has the bases loaded with no outs, trailing by three.

Wyatt Seay with another fantastic catch -- this one at the shoestrings -- and there are two outs.

Travis Bennett closes it out, getting the final out on a dribbler up the first-base line.

BOTTOM OF THE SIXTH INNING
Kiyan Lappke gets a one-out bunt single. Probably an error on Mandarin's third baseman, but I think Lappke would've beat it out regardless.

Lappke steals second, but he's stranded there after a pop-up and a groundout. To the seventh we go.

TOP OF THE SIXTH INNING
Brett Cain returns to the mound after his offense spots him a 5-2 lead. Time to get some outs.

Brett Cain gets a strikeout to start the sixth.

Cain works around a two-out single and notches two strikeouts to blank Mandarin in the top of the sixth inning. Bulldogs still lead 5-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth.

BOTTOM OF THE FIFTH INNING
Cameron Heroux leads off the inning with an infield single.

Kiyan Lappke ropes a single back through the middle, and FPC is in business. Lorenza Williams steps in with runners on first and second and nobody out.

Williams perfectly places a bunt for a base hit.

With the bases loaded, Michael Ehman hits a ball hard to third base, and the Mandarin third baseman boots it. Bulldogs cut the lead to 2-1.

Bases still loaded with no one out for FPC.

FPC leads 4-2 after a two-RBI single by Charles Tuccio and a sac bunt by Joseph Bernhard.

Pitching change for Mandarin ... One out in the bottom of the fifth.

Wyatt Seay slides into second with an opposite-field double to drive in FPC's fifth run. Bulldogs now lead Mandarin, 5-2.

TOP OF THE FIFTH INNING
Mandarin has runners on first and second with one out, still leading 1-0.

Mandarin plates a run on a double in the right-center field gap to take a 2-0 lead.

Wyatt Seay just ran a long, long way in right field to make a diving catch in foul territory for the third out, stranding a runner on third.

After five innings, FPC leads Mandarin, 5-2.

BOTTOM OF THE FOURTH INNING
FPC goes down one-two-three.

TOP OF THE FOURTH INNING
Mandarin continues to lead FPC, 1-0, into the fourth inning.

Mandarin gets runners on second and third with one out, but the Bulldogs turn an 8-4-6 double play to get out of the inning. Totally normal.

FPC dodges a bullet there. The runner on third didn't cross the plate before the runner at second was doubled off.

BOTTOM OF THE THIRD INNING
Lorenza Williams flies out to right field for the first out of the inning.

Michael Ehman ropes a single of the shortstop's head.

Charles Tuccio flies out to center for the second out.

Joseph Bernhard strikes out to end the inning, stranding the trying run at second base.

TOP OF THE THIRD INNING
Brett Cain sits Mandarin down in order to keep with two groundouts and a pop-up.

BOTTOM OF THE SECOND INNING
Josh Breeding and Wyatt Seay with back-to-back singles, and the Bulldogs are in business.

Kicen Gardner walks, and the Bulldogs have the bases juiced for Cameron Heroux.

Heroux and Kiyan Lappke both strike out with the bases loaded to end the inning.

It's Mandarin 1, FPC 0 headed to the top of the third inning.

TOP OF THE SECOND INNING
Bulldogs turn a 6-4-3 double play, but Mandarin plates a run to take a 1-0 lead.

Headed to the bottom of the second inning.

BOTTOM OF THE FIRST INNING
Lorenza Williams grounds out to third base.

Michael Ehman strikes out swinging.

CharlesTuccio pops up behind shortsop.

TOP OF THE FIRST INNING
Brett Cain surrenders a one-out single and a two-out walk, but he gets the third out on a hard line drive to center field.

Lorenza Williams coming up to bat to lead off the bottom of the first inning.

Flagler Palm Coast (2-1) squares off against Mandarin (2-3) in a District 1-8A showdown.
