Evan Kopach needs the community’s help.

The Rymfire Elementary School fifth-grader will have a series of brain surgeries beginning Feb. 25. He was diagnosed with juvenile absence epilepsy when he was 8, and despite many doctors and hospital stays, he has not responded to treatments. Things have gotten worse in the last six months.

Friends of the Kopach family have organized a Seizure-Free Life Benefit for Evan from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at High Jackers, to raise funds to help pay for the surgeries. Visit www.believeinawesome.org.
