A residential fire broke out tonight, Jan. 19, at 2A Prospect Lane, in Palm Coast. The Palm Coast Fire Department and Flagler County Fire Rescue were both dispatched to the scene as well as the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

The fire was under control shortly after it was reported. There was damage to the property, but no injuries.

The property manager, Grace Zultowski, said she was notified that the fire alarm was set off at 8:24 p.m. At this point officials said there is no reason to suspect foul play, but every fire is initially treated as a crime scene.

The fire is speculated to have begun in the garage, as that is the area that sustained the most damage. Zultowski said one of the residents is an artist and often works with lacquer and spray paint in the garage, which may have contributed to the fire.

However, according to Flagler County Fire Rescue Capt. Jamey Burnsed, the official cause and origin of the fire will not be determined until after an investigation led by the Palm Coast Fire Marshal is complete.
