Stolen: $2,900, one T-shirt
10:37 a.m. — 100 Block of Sea Trail. Burglary-Residential. A victim stated that approximately three weeks ago she and her family traveled to Mexico for vacation. Upon their departure, all windows and doors were securely locked and no one was occupying the residence during their absence.
When they arrived home, they discovered their front door was ajar. While they thought this was peculiar, they proceeded into the house and began unpacking. The victim then discovered that the rear sliding glass door was also open and completely off its track. There were no signs of forced entry or any damage within the residence.
When the heads of the houshold began searching the residence, they discovered $2,900 was missing from an envelope in their closet and a .38-caliber handgun missing from underneath their mattress. The complainant also stated that one of her son’s T-shirts was missing. There is an array of flat screen televisions, computers, jewelry and other items of value that were left untampered with.
Use of force
9:33 p.m. — 100 Block of Wellwood Lane. Criminal Mischief. A victim advised that while she was inside her residence, she heard a loud bang at the front door. Upon inspecting the door, she noticed that the door frame had been broken, suggesting that someone had tried to force their way into the residence. She opened the door and went outside but did not see anyone. She advised that she heard what sounded like someone in the woods across the street from her home.
During investigation, the officer observed that a great deal of force must have been used to strike the door. Attempts to locate a suspect were negative.

iPod stolen
9:12 p.m. — 5000 Block of East State Road 100. Larceny. A victim and her mother stated that on Feb. 24, her white 8 GB Apple iPod was stolen from her backpack while at a track meet.
Cut to the chase
4:10 p.m. — 1000 Block of Old Moody Boulevard. Suspicious Incident. While on patrol in the area near the courthouse, an officer observed a male wearing shorts, a dark gray hoodie and black shoes near some parked vehicles. He was attempting to throw yellow caution tape either on the roof or over a vehicle. When the male spotted the officer, he took off running in a southeast direction, which was swampy and full of thick brush.
The officer called for backup, but in the meantime he checked the immediate area in pursuit of the suspect. Upon rounding the corner of a building, he observed the male once more as he popped out of the swampy area. Seeing the officer, the suspect again took off running.
Another officer arrived with K-9 Char, who began to track in the swampy area. The officers continued to work in the area as well, but met negative results.
