The Buddy Taylor Middle School musical theater class will open its performance of “Aladdin Jr.” 7 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at the school. The encores will be 7 p.m. Friday, May 25, and Saturday, May 26.

“Aladdin Jr.” is a one-act, seven-scene musical adapted from the animated Disney film, “Aladdin.” A cast of 18 students has been working on the project all semester, and the performance is the culmination of their coursework.

Musical theater teacher Ann Paris and theater enthusiast Maxine Kronick have worked with the students in the play.

Tickets are $5, and the proceeds from the play will pay royalties and cost of production. The remainder will be put back into the school’s drama program.
