Around 11 p.m. Wednesday, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 700 block of the Madison Green Apartments, in Palm Coast, to investigate a report of a possible shooting, according to Lt. Bob Weber, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived on scene and were directed to an apartment in the complex. There, they located 31-year-old Robert Wells, of Palm Coast, who had sustained a single gunshot wound to the lower left leg.

Wells was transported to Florida Hospital Flagler for treatment to what has been reported as a non-life-threatening injury.

Investigators responded to the scene and conducted an investigation into the incident. Investigators believe that the shooting may have been drug related.

No suspects have been identified at this time.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
