+ ‘Just Move!’ program gets residents walking trails
Marianne Harris, a local nurse, first-aid instructor and integrative health coach, recently started a “Just Move!” walking program in Palm Coast, which uses health coaching techniques to facilitate overall lifestyle change.

“I see the importance of exercise to individuals but understand that everyone doesn’t want to run a marathon or half-marathon,” she said. “I saw the need to just get folks moving.”

Harris currently has her first team, seven members from the Palm Coast Yacht Club, halfway into a 12-week “Just Move!” session. They meet 8 a.m. Mondays, at different trails around Palm Coast.

Harris says the goals of the group are to achieve optimum health vision, mind/body connection, nutrition and more.

Recently, the group walked three miles in the rain, Harris said. They surprised themselves, an ability she credits to the team structure. Harris believes working in teams fosters group support, accountability and a sense of belonging.
