Fake drugs or real drugs, the man was sent to jail.

Lonnie Nadeau, of the B-section, was traveling on State Road 11 at around 3:40 a.m. Jan. 21. A deputy from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office stopped him because Nadeau’s red van was swerving.

A woman was asleep on a bed in the back of the van, which had an expired tag. It was later discovered that the previous owner sold the van in an auction in Maine.

The deputy observed a dollar bill rolled up and realized it was drug paraphernalia, as rolled-up bills are sometimes used to inhale narcotics.

The deputy investigated further and found a digital scale with white powdery residue on it, as well as two smokeless tobacco cans full of white powder, which the deputy identified as methamphetamines using a field test kit.

Nadeau stated that the powder was actually a fake narcotic. But, he said, he was planning to sell it as though it were real. He said the dollar bill was used by a friend, who was demonstrating to Nadeau that the narcotics were, in fact, fake.

Nadeau was transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamines, and three misdemeanor charges: possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a concealed weapon (a seven-inch blade under his seat), and driving with a suspended license.
