Brian McMillan, Managing Editor: After working for two years as the sports editor at the East County Observer, near Sarasota, Brian left Florida to earn his Master's of Fine Arts degree in creative nonfiction at Northern Michigan University. He then returned to The Observer Group as the managing editor of the Palm Coast Observer since its first issue in February 2010.
Ximena Alfaro, Design Editor:
Shanna Fortier, Community Editor: After graduating from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a concentration in visual communications, Shanna returned to her hometown of Palm Coast. Shanna is a multiple award winning photographer on both the state and national level including the coveted Robert J. Ellison Memorial Award for Excellence in Portfolio Photography from Florida Press Association. She has been with the Palm Coast Observer since its second issue in February 2010.
Jonathan Simmons, New: After graduating from Seattle Pacific University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in English literature, journalism and creative writing, Megan moved to Palm Coast to join the Observer staff. She has been with the Palm Coast Observer since August 2012.
Jared Mauldin, Multimedia Director: After graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Sciene degree in Communications, Jared worked in Charleston, SC and Gainesville, FL at local TV affiliates as a production assistant and producer. He moved to the Palm Coast area in July of 2012 and joined the Observer in December of that year.

Man killed, woman injured in motorcycle wreck
Gregory Daniel Fagas, 40, was killed and Nacomi Marie Campbell, 27, was injured in crash near the entrance to Belle Terre Elementary School the night of July 4.
